The Replacement Parts Range is Growing: Siemens VDO now provides engine actuators for independent workshops
Siemens VDO has made a logical addition to its range of original brand replace-ment parts for the independent aftermarket. Immediately, vehicle repair centres that are not tied to a specific brand and independent retailers can have full and unrestricted access to the Siemens VDO range of throttle bodies, idle speed con-trollers and linear actuators. This opens up a great potential for business in this customer segment for Siemens VDO, as from now on these customers will have even more original replacement parts of identical quality as OEM parts
In addition to spare parts for fuel systems, screen and headlight washing systems, sen-sors and central locking actuators, from June 2003, Siemens VDO will also sell around 70 engine actuators as original brand replacement parts through independent retailers. The throttle bodies, idle speed controllers and linear actuators offered in this range are based on the series production items produced for renowned vehicle manufacturers. Siemens VDO serves well in excess of 200 models and 650 types of vehicle with these replacement parts, corresponding to a current car parc of over 30 million in the top 5 countries in Western Europe alone. In the whole of Europe, these new replacement parts fit in some 50 million cars.
The enlarged Siemens VDO replacement parts portfolio also opens up a new area of business for independent workshops. Siemens VDO engine actuators were previously not freely available, and could also not be replaced by parts from other manufacturers. Remaining true to the philosophy of high quality levels applied in the OEM business, these original brand replacemnt parts also provide the highest levels of safety. They all derive from the production processes implemented for the vehicle manufacturers, thus meeting all the quality demands made by the sector.
